We operate in three segments- Gathering; Processing & Storage; and Terminaling & Export- primarily in the Bakken and Three Forks shale plays in the Williston Basin area, one of the most prolific crude oil producing basins in North America.

Our North Dakota Bakken Footprint

Hess Midstream owns a system of gathering pipelines that support production growth in the Bakken. These pipelines compress and move crude oil and natural gas from remote wells to processing and storage facilities. The system can increase its capacity via installation of additional compression equipment.

Hess Midstream also owns a water gathering and saltwater disposal business that provides Hess with substantially all of its required produced water needs in North Dakota.

Processing & Storage

Hess Midstream owns the Tioga Gas Plant, a large, strategically located gas plant north of the Missouri River, and owns 50% of the Little Missouri Four (“LM4”) gas processing plant south of the Missouri River. In addition, Hess Midstream owns a propane storage terminal in Minnesota.

Terminaling & Export

Hess Midstream operates integrated, interconnected terminal facilities that provide flexibility for export. This includes a truck and pipeline terminal, a rail terminal and rail cars, and a header system.
